Joseph Finkelstein, MD, PhD, FAMIA, FACMI
Dr. Finkelstein is currently Professor of Biomedical Informatics and Vice-Chair for Clinical Data Science and Telemedicine Informatics at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Dr. Finkelstein is also Scientific Advisor to the Arizona Telemedicine Program and the University of Arizona’s College of Medicine - Tucson. During his post-doctoral fellowship at Columbia University, he pioneered and published the first informatics-anchored telehealth R&D. Dr. Finkelstein's scholarly contributions led to the foundations of many contemporary informatics-anchored telehealth and telerehabilitation programs. He is currently serving as the Principal Investigator of NHLBI-funded randomized controlled trial aimed at evaluating the impact of pulmonary telerehabilitation in COPD patients after acute exacerbation, and as the Principal Investigator of the DoD-funded randomized controlled trial aimed to assess impact of multimodal telerehabilitation on reducing disparities in rural survivors of metastatic prostate cancer.
