Description of Services:

Advocate's eICU currently provides tele-ICU services to more than 400 ICU beds both within its 15 ICUs and for other organizations outside of Advocate, including several mobile carts in EDs and for patient management at a critical access hospital. We provide 24/7/365 physician and nurse coverage. We take a four pronged approach to patient care focusing on individual patient interventions, population management, evidence-based patient management and partnerships with individual ICUs in support of their local site initiatives. We utilize APACHE (a risk adjusted severity of illness tool) and evidence-based protocols to help drive and improve patient outcomes. Through these approaches, we have demonstrated improvements in ICU and ventilator LOS as well as decreases in ventilator associated pneumonia and central line associated infections.
