University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Institute for Digital Health & Innovation
The Institute for Digital Health & Innovation at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences facilitates the implementation of education, clinics, research, and outreach through interactive video (IAV). Working with organizations throughout Arkansas and across the country, the Institute can provide training and program development support to any institution requesting assistance. We collaborate with leaders to identify health disparities impacting rural communities. We also deliver over 20 telemedicine programs that bring together specialists, physicians, healthcare providers, and patients. In addition, the Institute manages UAMS e-Link, one of the largest telehealth networks in the nation, with over 25 years of experience in providing telehealth services for various health conditions thus allowing for the facilitation and the delivery of distance health and learning services to thousands of Arkansans every year. The network securely connects and partners with nearly 500 healthcare, higher education, public safety, and research facilities in unserved, underserved, and economically distressed areas throughout Arkansas. UAMS e-Link has over 1,482 endpoints, thus enabling each entity to transmit and receive real-time care and education in all 75 counties. In 2018, UAMS e-Link facilitated an average of 48,000 connections per month.
